PE and Sport at Craneswater

At Craneswater, we ensure that children experience a wide range of sports and physical activities through their PE lessons. Children develop and practise fundamental movement skills before applying these skills to a variety of different sports. They also take part in units of gymnastics and dance, developing their coordination, balance, creativity and confidence.

Our PE curriculum is carefully planned and designed to meet the objectives of the National Curriculum while also responding to the individual needs and interests of the children at our school. Our aim is to inspire every child to develop a love of sport and physical activity, regardless of their ability or experience.

We believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience competition in a positive and supportive environment. Throughout the year, all children take part in friendly and competitive sporting activities within school, allowing them to develop teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship and confidence while celebrating their achievements.

We pride ourselves on providing as many children as possible with opportunities to represent the school and participate in a wide range of sporting events outside of school. These events often take place at local venues across the city and we have enjoyed considerable success in recent years.

At Craneswater, we also offer a number of active extra-curricular clubs, giving children further opportunities to develop their skills, try new activities and enjoy being physically active beyond their PE lessons.
